Today was a crazy day.
Hayden was cranky for most of the morning and refused to take a nap.
I had to watch my sisters because my mom took my 9 year old sister, Bella, on a Girl Scouts field trip.

Brittany (my 18 year old sister) got home from running her errands around 1 p.m. so Hayden & I got dressed and left to pick up my friend's little sister, Jerica. Hayden fell asleep in the car. Highschool Homecoming was tonight so I went to help Jerica get ready. She's such a sweet heart and we dolled her up. I curled her hair & did her makeup while my other friend, Amanda, painted Jerica's nails. Hayden slept on Amanda's couch for about 2 hours before waking up. We turned on "Max & Ruby" for Hayden to watch - I hate that show - so we could finish helping Jerica get ready. Nate, Jerica's brother, came over to see her before he left town to help his buddy pack & move out of his apartment. It was about 4:45 when Jerica, Hayden, and I left to drop Jerica back off at her house so she could meet up with her boyfriend and go to dinner before the dance.

Hayden and I went home and relaxed with my sisters while we waited for my mom and Bella to get home from the field trip. We made Hy-vee pizza for dinner and had fruit cocktail as a side since noone wanted to actually cook. Lol.

I finally got Hayden to bed around 9:45 p.m. because she was running all around with her aunts and wouldn't nurse. I, then, played around on Facebook for a while. Now I'm sitting on the computer, blogging (obviously), and watching "Elf." I love this movie.

My mom went to lay down and try to get Olivia (3 year old) to sleep so we can go out tonight. I'm not a huge drinker but I have a beer every once in a while with my parents. But tomorrow is my 21st birthday!! So we're going to a bar called "Tin Lizzy's" for my first legal drink at midnight.

I think I'm going to take a nap now so I'm awake at midnight. It's only 10:30 right now but I'm EXHAUSTED! Hah.

Good night everyone. I hope you had a great day!! Tomorrow I have to work for 4 hours and then I'm going to come home and do some fun Fall crafts with Hayden. I will post them for all of you to see so you can try them with your little ones as well.

    Love, Crystal

I'm obsessed with the Nebraska Cornhuskers so guess what I bought online today? You got it!! That cloth diaper (pictured on the left).

I just want to talk a little about why I started cloth diapering.
I honestly started about a month and a half ago and am still building my stash so we're going back and forth between CD & DD.
Hayden was having problems with cheaper disposable brands when I couldn't afford to buy Huggies. She can't use Pampers, Luvs, or Target brand. The only ones other than Huggies that work for us are CVS brand. But of course, I can't find them in our town.
I was tired of Hayden getting diaper rashes and creams don't work for her. I started talking to my friend, Rebecca, about cloth diapering because she has been CDing since her daughter was born (about a year). I honestly have wanted to use cloth since Hayden was born but I didn't have money to start my stash and I got so many disposables at my baby shower that it seemed like a waste to not use them (I should have re-sold them).
About a month and a half ago, I went to a store called Baby Junk and                                                                                visited with one of the store owners. She told me all about the                                                                                                different kind of cloth diapers and why she likes each kind. I ended up                                                                                    buying 2 diapers and a small sample of EcoSprout detergent. I spent                                                                                    almost $50 on 3 items which I didn't like...LOL. So I started looking at                                                                                    Cloth Diaper Swaps on Facebook. I found a lady in my area that is                                                                                        looking to de-stash some of her diapers so I'm very excited to see what                                                                                she has.
Anyways...I was on Facebook talking to my cyber-friend, Mandy, and                                                                                 she sent me the picture of the Husker diaper that she saw on one of the                                                                                 diaper swap pages that I wasn't on. I immediately asked her to send me                                                                                 the lady's name so I could message her to try and buy the diaper. The                                                                                 lady ended up living about 3 hours from me and said that if I paid on                                                                                     PayPal tonight, she'd send out the diaper tomorrow! Which means I'll                                                                                   have it either Monday or Tuesday. Woo hoo!

I'm very excited to keep building my stash and transition into fully                                                                                     cloth diapering! No matter how old your baby is, it's definitely worth it to                                                                                 switch over! Cloth diapers can be used with your next baby or if your                                                                                     oven is closed, you can always re-sell them! They have great re-sale                                                                                     value!!

I'm going to bed now but I'd love for you to leave a comment about your                                                                                 experience with cloth diapering!! What are your favorite brands? What is                                                                                 your favorite style (Prefolds, AIO, AI2, etc)? Likes & Dislikes?
Thanks everyone!! Hayden and I love you!

We went to the park today!! Woo hoo!

It was a little chilly this morning but it started to warm up so I put Hayden in shorts and a light sweatshirt, plus her super cute boots!
My sisters all had eye appointments so Hayden and I were alone for the afternoon.
We decided to walk a few blocks to the park to play and have a snack (crackers and juice).

Hayden fell asleep on the way home and napped for almost TWO HOURS! This child NEVER naps. Lol.
But when she woke up...omg. She was a child from Hell. Yes, I said it....
She was screaming, crying, slapping, and scratching. And the worst part was she wouldn't calm down enough to tell me what was wrong. I ended up nursing her back to sleep after a long fight to get her to latch. She slept for another 45 minutes and then woke up with a smile on her face like nothing happened. Toddlers....

This just makes me so excited for the terrible twos. Lol NOT!
We ended our day with some delicious bacon-wrapped shrimp and sweet potatoes. The kiddos had chicken nuggets & apple sauce. Then for desert we had ROOT BEER FLOATS!!!! Yummmmmy.
Anyways....
Good night, y'all!

Love, Crystal.
& Remember, let 'em get dirty!!

Hey y'all!!
Today was a great day! I hope you all had a wonderful day as well.
Hayden has been saying so many new words recently.
Last night, I was asking her what pajamas she wanted to wear. I pulled out some Hello Kitty pants and she said "hi kitty." But then she said she didn't want to wear those. So we moved onto the next character.

TINKERBELL! And guess what she said when I asked her if she wanted to wear them? You got it..."Tinkerbell." Woo hoo!

This morning, I woke up by a kiss and hug from my beautiful baby girl.
It was cold and windy for most of the afternoon so we stayed inside and watched Dora, Team Umizoomi, and Jake & the Neverland Pirates.
We were waiting for a guy to bring us our fixed washer but they never came and didn't call to reschedule.
I ended up finally getting Hayden dressed (outfit in picture to the left) and we went to Hyvee to get lunch (on recipe page). Hayden fell asleep on the way back home and didn't wake up until we had to go pick up my sisters from school.

Then this evening, we took went to the park and took Hayden's pictures since she's 18 months old. We normally get her pictures professionally taken but I don't have the money to do that at the moment. They still turned out super cute! I can't wait to edit them. :)

We had yummy pork loin with apples & onions, roasted potatoes, and salad for dinner.
Anyways...it's 1:36 a.m. so I really need to get some sleep. Good night, everyone!!

Hello beautiful ladies!
I'm Crystal!! I'm 20, will be 21 in a week! I have one daughter named Hayden. She's 18 months old.
I was born in Missouri, where my parents were stationed (Air Force). I was an only child for 2 years until they had Brittany, my best friend and first sister. My mother left the Air Force after she had her.
When I was 4 years old, my family moved to Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. It was absolutely fantastic! I met a lot of great people, had some fun experiences (sunrise at the top of a volcano crater, etc...), and started school.
On my 8th birthday, my dad got stationed in Germany, so off we went. I had just started 3rd grade and was really sad to leave Hawaii. But guess what? I made MORE awesome friends and had a lot of fun.
My parents ended up separating when I was 10 and divorced a year later. My mom found out she was pregnant with Bryan's (my now step-dad) baby. So we left Germany and headed to Nebraska to live with my grandma, mom, and step-dad. This is when I met my best friend, Michaela. We were in 6th grade and clicked right away. But a year later, my step-dad got a job in another town so we moved....AGAIN. I met some more friends but kept in touch with Kayla.
Middle school is kind of all a blur.
Then onto highschool....I started hanging out with new people and lost touch with Michaela. I was in choir, flag team, and had a B+ average (I didn't like to turn in my finished homework). My mom had 3 more baby girls!!
At the end of my senior year, I met Stephfan. I was head over heels for him and we started dating right away.
I graduated with a full-ride to Doane College but decided to go to Nebraska Christian College.
Then my mom had her last baby girl!! So all together, I have FIVE sisters!
I ended up dropping out after a semester due to health problems and partying too much.
I moved in with my grandma to be closer to Stephfan and we got engaged after 7 months of dating. That didn't last very long...LOL
I found out I was pregnant on July 4th, 2011 and had a normal, awesome pregnancy. My due date was 3/12/12 but my stubborn munchkin wanted to be a St Patty's Day baby so she waited until 3/17 to pop out. My labor was GREAT! No pain medications and I only pushed 3 times!! We breastfed right away with no problems and we're still going strong.
A year and a half later, I could not ask for a better child! She is my reason for breathing.
Stephfan and I still talk and he's an amazing dad. No baby daddy drama here. Lol. Ok...sometimes. But that's expected.
And that's it....anything you want to know? Let me know in a comment or in the contact form located at the top.
